2022 Will See First Dedicated EV from Cadillac

Cadillac plans to roll out its first dedicated electric vehicle in 2022 with many more to follow. The EV from Cadillac is expected to enable the automaker to hold its position at the top of the luxury vehicle market with new electric models.

The future is getting closer.

Cadillac plans to introduce a new vehicle model twice a year until 2021, and many are likely to be electric from that point on. The automaker provided a sneak peek of plans for an electric crossover at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit when it showcased the Cadillac XT6. Unfortunately, the automaker did not supply a prototype of the mysterious Cadillac EV at the auto show. The dedicated Cadillac EV is suspected to compete with the Audi e-Tron and Tesla Model X in the luxury electric vehicle category.

Cadillac is developing its own battery platform known as BEV3, or Battery Electric Vehicle 3. The three stands for the third generation of the system. The new battery is expected to be used in front-, rear-, and all-wheel-drive vehicles. Cadillac is expected to roll out an electric version of the Cadillac Escalade with the ability to drive 400 miles on a charge.* Cadillac is planning for the blossoming future of electronic vehicles and intends to lead the luxury market.
