New Thanksgiving Traditions to Try this Year

We all have traditions for the holidays that have been passed down from generation to generation, but it’s never too late to add new ones to the mix to keep the holiday fun, relaxing, and fresh. Here are some new Thanksgiving traditions to try out this year and see if they’re something you and the family can do for years to come.

Use Technology

One thing that will bring the whole family together is to have relatives who couldn’t make it to dinner Skype in or FaceTime while you’re going around and saying what you’re thankful for. If you’re the one who can’t make it, this is a great way to feel like you’re still part of it.

There’s also something to be said for making time for yourself on Thanksgiving. It’s a day about family, but that can get pretty stressful, and it’s important to take some time and relax. Go on a walk by yourself or with a couple of people around the block to get away from the noise, or just have a quiet breakfast in the morning before everyone arrives.

Get Crafty

Finally, add some crafty traditions to your list, like using butcher paper as a tablecloth and giving everyone pens to write down what they’re thankful for. Cut them out and use them in your scrapbooking or journaling.
